General Description :

Toolex is epoxy base vinylester tooling gelcoat perfectly suited in making of FRP moulds for open and closed moulding processes. Mould will have properties like substantial gloss retention, resistance to splitting, stability at high temperature. Tooling gel coats are specially designed to provide a highly polish-able and durable surface to moulds. They are formulated to create a surface capable of yielding hundreds of releases, resist surface damage and work well with a wide range of release agents. These require very high levels of durability to overcome the mechanical and thermal stresses encountered during the curing and demoulding processes. Give long production cycle to be carried out on the mould. The outer surface layer must be able to protect an object from atmospheric, chemical, and ultraviolet radiation.it prevents water absorption inside the fibre of the material as well as deterioration due to aggressive saponification. Indispensable for the production of a mould that is adequately resistant. It provides wet-out, easy air release, low shrinkage, and higher deflection temperature.

 

MOULD CONCEPTION :

 

FACE COAT :

  • Use low shrinkage Gelcoat toolex to create layer thickness of 0.6 – 0.8 mm.

 

SKIN – LAMINATE

  • 1 Layer of 30 GSM surface mat with low shrinkage tooling resin.
  • 1 layer of CSM 225 with low shrinkage tooling resin.
  • 2 layers of CSM 300 with low shrinkage tooling resin.
  • Create a thickness of skin-laminate between 2 – 3 mm.

 

INTERMEDIARY :

  • 3 Layers of CSM 450 with low shrinkage tooling resin.
  • Create a thickness of intermediary between 5 – 6 mm.

 

STRUCTURAL

  • 01 layer of WR 610 with low shrinkage tooling resin
  • 01 Layer of CSM 450 with low shrinkage tooling resin
  • 01 Layer of core mat with low shrinkage tooling resin
  • 01 layer of CSM 450 with low shrinkage tooling resin.
  • Create a thickness of structural between 8.5 – 9.5 mm
